Facilities and Resources for Design and Simulation
PEP's research department provides computer software packages and its experts' skills in design and optimization, to develop your projects and ensure your competitiveness.
The software packages used by PEP's design and simulation teams:
-
Ansys: software package for analysing
structures, vibration phenomena, mechanical constraints, etc.
For further information: http://www.ansys.com/ - Catia
V5: a Dassault Systèmes brand name that is a product design and innovation
solution.
For further information: http://www.3ds.com/fr/products/catia/portfolio/catia-v5/catia-v5r20/ - Comsol
Multiphysics®: simulation software package for modelling processes. It enables
users to define geometry, meshing and resolution, and then visualize the
results.
For further information: http://www.comsol.fr/products/multiphysics/ - HyperMesh
Altair: a finite element pre-processor for analysing product design performance
(solid geometry modelling, shell meshing, model morphing, detailed model
set-up, generating volumetric models).
For further information: http://www.altairhyperworks.com/Product,7,HyperMesh.aspx - Matlab:
a scientific calculation language enabling computationally intensive tasks to
be performed (developing algorithms and applications, analysing and accessing
data, visualizing data, performing numerical calculation, publishing results
and deploying applications, etc.)
For further information: http://www.mathworks.fr/products/matlab/ - ModeFRONTIER:
software package for multi-objective and multidisciplinary optimization and
design.
For further information: http://france.enginsoft.com/modefrontier/index.html - Moldflow:
simulation software package that is part of the Digital Prototyping Autodesk
solution. It supplies tools for optimizing plastic component and injection
mould design, and for studying injection moulding processes.
For further information: http://www.moldflow.com/stp/ - Solidworks:
a 3D CAD software suite for validating designs and managing technical data, and
for product documentation. PEP uses the Cosmosworks and SolidWorks Flow
Simulations modules for fluid flow simulation and thermal analysis.

Cosmosworks: http://www.clear.rice.edu/mech403/HelpFiles/IntroducingCW.pdf - Statistica:
a software platform for data-analysis, management and representation
procedures, as well as for data mining solutions.
