Cosmetics
Cosmetics is a dynamic market. Professionals working in the sector know this, and for the past few years they have been taking advantage of high consumer demand for plastic packaging to ride on the crest of this growth.

Cosmetics display plastics to advantage, but beyond this they also contribute to increased awareness of issues such as product safety, regulation, eco-friendly product development and fluctuations in fashion trends, etc. Plastics engineers can play a part in responding to these issues.
Cosmetics packaging needs to be clean and light, protect the product and enable it to be delivered, preserve product stability, while also being aesthetically pleasing and informative. The performance of plastics and the wide range of packaging-design techniques (injection, injection blow moulding, extrusion blow moulding, thermoforming, etc.) make plastics engineering an excellent partner.
The important issues in this sector are sustainable development (reducing packaging, integrating biodegradable materials, etc.), as well as regulating and ecodesigning cosmetics packaging. These are all strategic factors to take into account when product packaging is designed.
Did you know?
The 'green dot' on cosmetics packaging enables you to recognize firms making a financial contribution towards recycling their packaging (the level of their contribution depends on the amount of packaging, the material and its weight). This financial contribution is imposed by the European Union in order to set up systems for reusing, collecting and valorizing packaging.
