Compounding Testing

DEVIRIS, an independent company set up in 2002, specializes in colouring and valorizing small and medium quantities of thermoplastic resins.
DEVIRIS makes it own colorimetric formulations that cover all polymer ranges, from polypropylene to liquid-crystal polymers.
Its main markets are highly technical resins, which have stringent quality requirements.  DEVIRIS supplies all business sectors, from the car industry to cosmetics, both in France and throughout Europe.

DEVIRIS asked PEP to carry out a compounding test, as its chairman, Monsieur Pierre-Yves Fayard, recounts:

Why did you turn to PEP for your LCP compounding tests?

"The special characteristics of LPC resins means that their extrusion is problematic. We wanted to be sure that this extrusion was technically feasible, and be certain about the quality of the extruded product.  Our own facilities were not ideal and it was essential to validate the process before any potential investment."

What are your main causes for satisfaction after collaborating with PEP's materials experts?

"We particularly appreciated the partnership that formed quite naturally between the technicians at PEP and DEVIRIS.  Our requirements have all been carried out and, in particular, we had access to the machine settings. This is a very important requirement since perception is paramount during the development phase. This is because we are testing empirical solutions.  The setting ranges sent to us at the end of the test are also an important assessment tool. The product has been approved by our client, meaning that we have achieved our goal."

Do you have a special message to share?

"We cannot but congratulate PEP's technicians. Since we have extensive experience in polymers and additives, we are also offering our services for certain developments working in partnership. We noticed that discretion reigns at PEP. This is completely in harmony with the confidentiality that our business requires."
